Have you ever wondered what really happens behind the cameras of your favorite Netflix show? We got the chance to find out in a BBC workshop that turned a normal school day into a trip straight into a TV adventure. The event was designed to be both entertaining and educational, and it successfully combined fun with valuable insights into the world of media.

From the beginning, the hosts involved the audience and explained the different aspects of creating a TV show by showing the different steps involved. We learned that the BBC not only makes traditional television programs in England but also creates films and series for major streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. This showed how international the work of the BBC has become.

The workshop also introduced us to the many different jobs needed to make a show. On stage, you need professional cameras, microphones, and lighting. But behind the scenes, a whole team is essential. Make-up artists get the actors ready, directors guide the performances, producers organize the whole process, and editors and greenscreens are important parts of modern film production. It was amazing to see how much work goes into even a short scene.

A highlight of the workshop was the creation of a short “Netflix scenario,” which showed in a humorous and engaging way just how complex even a short scene can be to produce. What made this part of the workshop truly special was how interactive it was: instead of simply listening to information, we were encouraged to ask questions, take part in different tasks, and bring our own ideas to the table. Working together on the scenario allowed us to experience firsthand the importance of teamwork, creativity, and careful planning in media production. It was fascinating to see how every small detail, from dialogue to camera angles to timing, had to be coordinated perfectly for the scene to work.

Overall, the exercise was not only highly entertaining but also gave us a deeper understanding of the effort needed to bring a production to life. In conclusion, the BBC workshop was an inspiring experience that combined learning with entertainment. It offered a valuable insight into the many different aspects of media production and highlighted the importance of teamwork in this field. The workshop left a strong impression and may even encourage some students to consider a future career in the media industry.

Wegen der angekündigten Temperaturen findet Mittwoch bis Freitag verkürzter Unterricht statt.

Am Donnerstag, dem 26.06.2025 war es mal wieder so weit: Schüler, Lehrer, Eltern und Gäste kamen
bei unserem alljährlichen Schulfest zusammen, um dieses recht kurze, jedoch sehr ereignisreiche
Schuljahr gemeinsam ausklingen zu lassen.
Seit nun 4 Jahren gibt es das von Schülern im Rahmen ihrer komplexen Leistung organisierte
Schulfest am Pestalozzi Gymnasium und wird langsam zu einer kleinen Tradition, die sich in das
Schulleben integriert hat und bei allen Beteiligten sehr beliebt ist. Auch die sportlichen Turniere, die
jedes Jahr in den Sportarten Basketball und Volleyball Anklang finden, waren dieses Jahr gut besetzt
und die Schüler konnten ihr Können und ihre Geschicklichkeit unter Beweis stellen und in einem
fairen Match gegeneinander antreten.
Die einzelnen Klassen von Klassenstufe 5 bis 11 sorgten für kulinarische Versorgung und sammelten
damit etwas Geld für den nächsten Ausflug oder auch für die im nächsten Schuljahr anstehende
Klassenfahrt. Kleine Spiele wir Dosenwerfen, Weitwurf, Hürdenlauf oder Paarlauf vertrieben den
Besuchern die Zeit und so war es wie jedes Jahr ein schöner, abwechslungsreicher, aber auch ein
sehr warmer Tag.
Wir bedanken uns bei allen Eltern, Schülern, Lehrkräften sowie bei den unzählig weiteren Helfern im
Hintergrund für die Unterstützung des Schulfestes und insbesondere bei der Tanzschule Pötschke-Nebl für ihre großzügige Spende und beim Schulförderverein des Gymnasiums, der das Projekt
ebenso finanziell wie auch organisatorisch begleitete. ©AK
